Black Hills Spruce:   Picea   glauca   var. densata  – Grows to a height of 40-50' with a spread of 20-35'. Naturally occurring variety of the native white spruce from the Black Hills region of SD. Slow growing, long lived conifer. Prefers full sun and moist to well drained soils. Tolerates dry sites.
